Alpine Staff

Nick Mason PT, DPT
Director of Clinical Operations

Nick Mason is a graduate of Grand Valley State University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He has 4 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist and is currently pursuing credentialing from the McKenzie Institute. In his free time, Nick loves spending time with his wife and 1-year old daughter. He is an avid sports fan and loves all outdoor activities including camping, hiking, and kayaking.

Rebecca Sedlar PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Rebecca Sedlar earned her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Baker College of Muskegon. She has been a licensed PTA for over 25 years. In her free time, Becky loves camping, fishing, sports, and DIY.

Elise Trim
Clinical Business Coordinator

Elise is the Clinic Business Coordinator at the Alpine/NW location, she has been with Advent for a little under a year. In her free time, Elise likes to play board games, go camping, and spend time with her fur kids. Elise’s favorite pastime is to travel whenever she gets the chance. Her favorite place to visit is the Pacific Northwest, it is the most beautiful place, and everybody should see it!

Jill Holkeboer MSPT
Director of Clinical Operations

Jill Holkeboer attended Grand Valley State University where she earned her undergraduate and physical therapy degrees. She specializes in outpatient orthopedics and return to work patients and is certified to perform functional capacity evaluations.  Jill has 19 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. In her free time, Jill enjoys skiing, camping, and backpacking.

Heather Ross
Clinical Business Coordinator

Native to the Rocky Mountains of Utah and Colorado, Heather has a BS degree in Event Coordination and a background in Massage Therapy. Having relocated to Grand Rapids in 2015, Heather joined the Advent team in 2016 as the Clinical Business Coordinator for our Amway location. She is excited about being part of this team and enjoys seeing patients realize the wonderful, healing benefits of physical therapy. In her spare time Heather enjoys outdoor adventures, traveling, cooking and spending time with her family.

Allison Ford PT, DPT
Director of Clinical Operations

Allison Ford received her undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Oakland University, located in Rochester, MI. She specializes in the McKenzie diagnosis and treatment of the spine and enjoys treating sports injuries and TMJ. Allison has 9 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. In her free time, she enjoys coaching figure skating as the current coach the Grand Valley State University Synchronized Skating Team, traveling and spending time with her husband, 2 daughters and their dogs.

Jessica Tuzinowski
Clinical Business Coordinator

Jess graduated from GVSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with a Clinical Emphasis. Outside of work, she coaches GVSU’s Synchronized Skating Team and individual figure skating lessons. Jess also enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, going to the beach and traveling.

Eric Boss PT, MBA, Cert. MDT
Director of Clinical Operations

Eric Boss received his physical therapy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (McKenzie), Center Coordinator of Clinical Education (Advent), Instructor in Professional Topics (GVSU PT 2017 and 2018), trained in spinal manipulation (Spinal Manipulation Institute), certified as a Clinical Instructor (APTA), and has some Spanish proficiency. Eric been a licensed Physical Therapist for 18 years. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his kids (Ages 14, 17, and 17), precision shooting, and golfing.

Eileen Kishman PT
Physical Therapist

Eileen Kishman received her physical therapy degree from the University of Michigan – Flint and has over 32 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. She has a special interest in women’s and men’s pelvic health issues, breast cancer/ lymphedema patients, and pregnant and post-partum patients. Eileen is certified in MLD (lymphedema treatment), she is a prenatal exercise instructor, and has completed training in dry needling and McKenzie treatment and diagnosis of the spine. In her free time, Eileen enjoys running, watching her daughter swim, and coaching.

Amanda Ahmeti PT, DPT 
Physical Therapist

Amanda attended GVSU for both her undergraduate and for her physical therapy degree. After PT school Amanda travelled as a Physical Therapist for three years and has worked in a wide range of PT settings. She just celebrated her ten-year anniversary as a licensed Physical Therapist. Amanda has experience with manual therapy, McKenzie treatment, women’s health- pain and pregnancy, vestibular, balance, Neuro- CVA, SCI and TBI, pediatrics, amputee, wound care, and golf/running. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, running and travelling all with her energetic 3 year old son and husband.

Purvi Pardiwala PT, DPT 
Physical Therapist

Purvi Pardiwala received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Saint Louis University. She has a special interest in manual therapy. Purvi has four years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist and is currently licensed in Illinois and Michigan. Her top 3 personal interests are binge-watching TV, cooking and dancing.

Caitlin Kuk PTA 
Physical Therapist Assistant

Caitlin Kuk attended Baker College in Flint to earn her Physical Therapist Assistant degree. She is certified in Astym and kinesiology taping and has completed multiple continuing education courses including: Lumbar spine, knee, shoulder girdle, and SIJ. Caitlin has six years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Outside of work, she enjoys playing with her two girls (4 and 2 yrs old), swimming/going to the beach in the summer, and house projects.

Amy Winkel PTA 
Physical Therapist Assistant

Amy Winkel received her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Baker College of Muskegon and has over six years of experience as a licensed PTA. She specializes in McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy: The Lumbar Spine and the Cervical and Thoracic Spine. Amy has also completed Select Functional Movement Assessment Level 1. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, hiking/running/biking, and reading.

Allison Kleinsasser
Assistant Referral Coordinator

Allison is the Assistant Referral Coordinator and one of the Bilingual Clinical Business Coordinators at the Downtown clinic. She has been working for the company for two and a half years, and especially enjoys serving the Spanish speaking community of Downtown Grand Rapids. Allison enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring fun new places in the city.

Kathryn Knox
Assistant Referral Coordinator

Kathryn is the one of the Bilingual Clinical Business Coordinators at the Downtown location. She is new to the company and is excited to be serving the community of Grand Rapids in this capacity. She loves to travel and has had the fortune of visiting 4 out of 7 Central American countries through her studies, pleasure, and a stint in the Peace Corps. In her free time she enjoys yoga and making memories with friends and loved ones.

Sam Norris
Clinical Business Coordinator

Sam was born in the summer of 1984, but has been with Advent PT since September 2017. He is fluent in English, sarcasm and witty banter. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his fiancé and their two dogs, traveling and playing golf.

Alex Macken PT, DPT
Director of Clinical Operations

Alex Macken received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. He treats general orthopedic and spinal pain conditions utilizing primarily orthopedic manual techniques. Alex is currently completing his post doctorate certification in orthopedic manual therapy through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy and will be enrolling in their manual therapy fellowship in Fall of 2018. He has been practicing as a licensed Physical Therapist for two and a half years. Alex’s hobbies and interests include: Fly fishing, playing with his Springer Spaniel puppy, and spending time with his wife and family.

Lindsay Banachowski PT, DPT, OMPT, OCS 
Physical Therapist 

Lindsay Banachowski earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Oakland University in 2012. Since that time, she completed an orthopedic residency (OMPT) through Oakland University and an additional orthopedic clinical specialist certification (OCS). She enjoys treating orthopedics, spine, pediatrics and sports medicine where she strives to give her patients quality individualized care. Lindsay is fluent in Spanish and enjoys treating this population. Lindsay also assists with teaching musculoskeletal/PT portion for 1st year medical students at MSU. She is also an adjunct faculty member for the Grand Valley State University Physical Therapy program where she helps teach advanced spine and clinical seminar courses. In her free time, she enjoys sports, yoga, outdoor activities and staying active with her husband and son.

Heather Mol PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Heather attended Baker College of Muskegon for physical therapist assistant school. She has a special interest in multi-region core stability, manual therapy of the upper quarter, manual therapy of the lower quarter, lumbar spine athletic low back pain, and teaching people about pain. Heather is also BLS certified. She has three years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Outside of work, Heather enjoys doing outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, camping and doing watercolor.

Holly Yonker
Clinical Business Coordinator

Holly is from Holland, MI and earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication from Grand Valley State University. Since graduating college she has worked in a variety of different medical professions at both long term care and skilled nursing facilities. In her free time she enjoys reading, walking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Brad Johanson PT, DPT
Director of Clinical Operations

Brad Johanson received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from one of the top 5 PT programs in the country, Emory University in Atlanta, GA.  He also completed a Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA and received his Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Certification (OCS). Brad is trigger point dry needling certified, has taken extensive coursework in manual therapy, and has advanced training in vestibular rehab. He has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 2013. Outside of work Brad enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 young kids, William and Amelia. He also likes to hike and enjoys all of the outdoor natural beauty that Michigan has to offer. Finally, Brad enjoys working on his old farmhouse that he recently purchased.

James (Jim) Biederbeck, MSPT
Physical Therapist

Jim Biederbeck attended Marquette University for his undergraduate degree and GVSU for his physical therapy degree. He specializes in TMJ and frequently treats headaches. Jim has been a licensed Physical Therapist for over 17 years. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball, golfing, and reading.

Virginia Herweyer
Clinical Business Coordinator

Virginia is the Clinical Business Coordinator at the East Paris location. She spent 5 of her 6 years with Advent as a Physical Therapist Assistant after graduating from Kellogg Community College.  In her free time, Virginia enjoys spending time with her two teenage children, painting, playing piano, and all forms of exercise.

Gretchen Walsh PT, DPT, MTC, Cert. MDT
Director of Clinical Operations

Gretchen Walsh received a Master of Science in Physical Therapy Degree from Grand Valley State University in 2003 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Services in 2011. She has an advanced certification in manual therapy, as well as a certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) with the McKenzie Institute. Gretchen also completed advanced training in Women’s and Men’s Health, Geriatrics, Sports Medicine, Myofascial Release, Joint Mobilizations, Trigger Point Dry Needling and Functional Re-training. In her free time, Gretchen enjoys participating in triathlons, vacationing and trying to keep up with her family.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Kristyn Hopkins earned her Associates Degree in Applied Science with a focus on Physical Therapist Assistant from Kellogg Community College. She has seven years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Kristyn completed continuing education courses that focus on kinesiology taping, as well as elbow and hand therapy techniques. In her free time, she enjoys going camping in Northern Michigan and spending time outdoors with her family.

Mindy started working as the Clinic Business Coordinator in 2017.  She has one adult son.  In her free time she likes reading, working in her yard and spending time with family.

Jon Vos attended Northwestern University to earn his physical therapy degree. He is certified in the McKenzie diagnosis and treatment of the spine and specializes in TMJ, back and neck. Jon has been a licensed Physical Therapist for 24 years. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, golf and hospitality.

Linnae Viles received her physical therapy degree from GVSU. She is certified in the McKenzie diagnosis and treatment of the spine and specializes in vestibular and torticollis. Linnae has 9 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities, travelling and spending time with her family.

Kristen Mitchell received her degree from Baker College of Muskegon. She is working toward her McKenzie certification and have completed parts A-D of coursework. Kristen has 8 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, cooking and hosting/hospitality.

Esther is the full time Clinic Business Coordinator at the Jenison locations. She has lived in Michigan for about 17 years. She is from England and has been in the United States for about 33 years. Esther and her husband have 4 children. They have 3 boys and a girl that are all spread around the US. They have given Esther vacation flats in Ohio, Seattle, Atlanta, and Philadelphia. In her free time she loves to run marathons, read, crochet, and knit. She likes having her quite time.

Brandon Gerardy PT, DPT, Cert. MDT
Director of Clinical Operations

Brandon Gerardy earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Grand Valley State University and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan in 2008. His treatment philosophy centers on patient education, as well as utilizing manual therapy and functionally-based exercises to help patients achieve their goals. Brandon earned his certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy from The McKenzie Institute and is currently pursuing a certification in Applied Functional Science from the Gray Institute. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter as well as distance running and competing in flat water marathon canoe racing.

Dean Poppema has been a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with Advent Physical Therapy for 11 years. He received his training from Baker College of Muskegon and graduated in 2017. In his free time, he enjoys camping with my family, bike riding and golf.

Rhonda Brinks
Clinical Business Coordinator

My name is Ronda Brinks. In June, my husband and I will be celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. I have 2 boys that are grown and married to two wonder young ladies. I am a grandmother of 2 little boys, 2 years and 3 months.  In my spare time I train for triathlons. This year I have a very lofty goal of finishing my first 140.6. It is a full distant Ironman. I will be racing, this in October in Louisville.

Jamie Hebner attended Grand Valley State University to receive a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. She focused on sports medicine the first 5 years of practice and is currently McKenzie certified. Jamie has been practicing as a licensed Physical Therapist for 16 years. In her free time, Jamie enjoys personal fitness/nutrition, spending time with her husband and 4 kids, camping and playing sports.

Jeremy Decker attended physical therapy school at Grand Valley State University and is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT). He has three years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his wife, Sarah.

Jamie Kilpatrick PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Jamie Kilpatrick graduated from Baker College with Associates of Applied Science for PTA in 2003. She enjoys working with general orthopedic conditions as well as working closely with a McKenzie certified PT to treat cervical and lumbar pain. Jamie also enjoys working with the geriatric population for gait, balance and general conditioning. She has been a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for 15 years. In her free time, Jamie enjoys being active outdoors with her 4 kids, reading, and volunteering at church.

Kim Erb
Clinical Business Coordinator

Kim is the Clinic Business Coordinator at the Byron Center Saint Mary’s South West location. Kim is a native to Michigan with 3 children and 4 grandchildren (all girls). She has been a part of the Byron Center family for a little over 2 years. Any free time she gets she fills it with her loving granddaughters. Anything apart from that she spends outdoors with her husband.

Kenneth Arends received a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. He specializes in outpatient orthopedics and was credentialed in the McKenzie method (Cert. MDT) in 2007. Kenneth has been working as a licensed Physical Therapist since 1998. Outside of work, he enjoys camping/hiking, hunting/fishing, and spending time with his wife and 3 teenage boys in various sports activities.

Anna Bennett PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Anna Bennett attended Baker College, Muskegon to earn her PTA degree and is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at The University of Findlay, expected graduation 2020. She is also a 200 YTT Yoga Instructor. Her hobbies outside of work include: Yoga, cooking, enjoying restaurants and craft breweries.

Carmen Vandyke PT, DPT
Physical Therapist 

Carmen Vandyke received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (PT) from Northwestern University, downtown Chicago. She currently working towards credentialing for MDT (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy) and has a special interest in outpatient orthopedics. Carmen has been a licensed Physical Therapist for almost four years. In the winter she volunteers with Cannonsburg Challenged Ski Association spending 2-4 hours a week working with students with a variety of physical and developmental disabilities learning how to ski. Carmen uses her skills with snowboarding to block and tether for students who require a sit ski due to inability to ski traditionally. In the summers, Carmen and her husband enjoy kayaking down various rivers in West Michigan. She also loves spending time with her son and watching him grow and change.

Jacqueline Hinds
Clinical Business Coordinator

Jacqueline has worked with Advent for 8 years. She married and has three handsome young men; 13, 11, and 8 and she also has a baby on the way due in June. Jacqueline enjoys being outdoors (mostly when it’s warm ), camping, going for walks, and bike riding. Her children are active in basketball, soccer, and football. She is also a part of a small group through church and faith is in the forefront of her family. They actively choose to put God first in all they do.

Wendy Bradley MPT, Cert. MDT
Director of Clinical Operations

Wendy Bradley earned her physical therapy degree from Grand Valley State University. She holds a McKenzie certification and specializes in women’s health, TMJ, and vertigo. Wendy has been a licensed Physical Therapist since 2002. Outside of work, she enjoys visiting our cottage, spending time with her kids, and reading.

Melissa DeBoer PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Melissa DeBoer attended Baker College of Muskegon for her PTA education. She went back to school after her children were grown to fulfill her dream of working in physical therapy. Melissa has three years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. Her hobbies outside of work include: home remodel projects, outdoor activities and helping others.

Autumn Luke PT, DPT
Physical Therapist 

Autumn Luke attended physical therapy school at Grand Valley State University. She completed her LSVT BIG certification to assist patients with Parkinson ’s disease and received her physical therapist license in 2017. Outside of work Autumn enjoys playing pick-up soccer, walking her dog, and traveling to new places.

Krista Sanders
Clinical Business Coordinator

Krista has been with the company for several years. She started at our Grand Rapids Sports Center and has transferred to being the Standale offices Clinic Business Coordinator in the past year. She has 3 daughters and the youngest was just born Spring 2018! All her free time goes to her daughters and family.

Rockford Staff

Todd Cates PT, DPT
Director of Clinical Operations

Todd Cates graduated with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. He has a special interest in treating the spine and is currently working towards a Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis in Treatment through the McKenzie Institute USA. Todd enjoys helping people recover from orthopedic surgeries and has been practicing as a licensed Physical Therapist for 5 years. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. Todd is also an avid reader and tries to have a book that he is working on most of the time. Lastly, Todd enjoys traveling and seeing different parts of the country and world.

Kaitlyn Davis PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant

Kaitlyn Davis graduated from Kellogg Community College. She has a special interest in applying the repeated motion strategies of the McKenzie system and helping people improve their neck and back pain. Kaitlyn also enjoys seeing the rapid benefit patients get from utilizing soft tissue techniques to address muscular pain and stiffness with both manual and instrumented techniques. She been practicing as a licensed PTA for one year. When Kaitlyn is not at work, she enjoys baking, reading, and crafting/decorating.

Kathryn Szetela PT, DPT
Physical Therapist 

Kathryn Szetela graduated from Bradley University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. After graduating, she completed an orthopedic physical therapy residency with the Order of Saint Francis Health Care System in Peoria, IL. Kathryn has a special interest in working with runners and people working through lower extremity injuries. She treats all orthopedic diagnoses and is comfortable treating vestibular patients and concussions. Kathryn has been practicing as a licensed Physical Therapist for 4 years. Outside of work, she enjoys doing videography and photography, home brewing beer, and cooking.

Colleen Duthler
Clinical Business Coordinator 

Colleen is one of the Clinic Business Coordinators at the Rockford Clinic. She likes watching the patients improve with Physical Therapy and seeing them get back to their healthiest, happiest, and strongest selves. She is very passionate about running, biking, hiking, and yoga. Chocolate and peanut butter are part of her main food groups. She is married and enjoys this stage in her children’s lives where they are “adulating” or at least attempting to do so.
